Plus the 3ft passing laws are not really meant to be randomly enforced. the primary purpose for such laws is that if an officer's see's a driver pass a cyclist in an "AGGRESSIVE" but otherwise not normally illegal manner if he is within 3ft he now has a law on the book to legitimately "charge" the driver with.

Besides a ****** bag cop I just don't see an officer giving drivers a problem who politely and safely pass a cyclist whether they cross the double yellow or not.

the law is meant to give them leverage against aggressive drivers and is not intended to be strictly enforced blindly.
