Clear coating the original l patina?

So today I bought a 63 Schwinn Varsity step through. And I'm going to flip it. Chrome is in amazing shape with a little scrubbing, however the paint is mostly decent but with some fairly big flaws chain stay being the worse. I don't think I can find a good match on the technicolor lime green of the bike, and it's not worth repainting.

But should I go ahead and add a few layers of clear coat over the patina? It really isn't that big of a deal to do, since it's in parts now getting new cables tires tomorrow, but is it worth doing on a flip? Would doing so lower the "collectors" value? (yeah I know it's not super rare), but I do like to think that I flip a quality product when I'm done with it. If I do do it, do I admit it to the customer, since it would pretty much guarantee a longer life for the bike.

Or should I just wax and not bother?
