I have successfully removed rattlecan with acetone (nail polish remover), even the rattlecan that was applied over the decals. It was on a nice Klein, and as with most Kleins, it had a really special original paint scheme. So it was worth the risk in my case.

If you go that route, start with an out of the way spot first.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
