My favorite classic rims from Mavic would be the 330GL. A sew up rim that might have been considered a Mavic benchmark for reliable and light sewup rims of the mid 80's and later.

I know what you mean - but they did bring a slightly cool "pro" look to the wheels - especially when you added white " M A V I C " letters to the opposite side of the rim for maximum pose value!

Personal tub favourite was the CX-18 - the lightest rim I've ever ridden on, and what I used to spin my fastest ever 10 on...
