I agree, but I don't understand the point of people who do not bike or live in a specific area to project their opinions and bias based on their own experiences with different riding and living conditions.
FWIW, there has been more pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the last few years because the local economy is not as bad as it had been. This has led to a bit more cash in people's pockets and some of them has spent this on cars, bikes and some are out doing more shopping. I see the difference when I go to work and go home every day.
And as far as Councilman James Vacca, this same person was quoted in july as saying cars travel too fast on our city streets when he was promoting traffic safety and does not hide his distaste for bicyclist and bicycle lanes. So, for him to comment about the statistics and point to these to boost his own agenda is becoming tiresome.
