In my experience, different brands of rattlecan paint will dissolve with different solvents. So I'd start with something pretty innocuous, like denatured alcohol, then proceed to the nastier stuff... naptha, paint thinner, mineral spirits, acetone, xylol.... I don't know the exact sequence, but don't go near acetone and xylol until you've tried the weaker ones.
