Trying to decide which bike is best, or best made, or the best rider, is all a waste of time because there are so many to choose from. Instead, take a little bit of time to learn how to recognize a good bike from a lesser offering. You can come up to speed quickly by looking through Vintage Bicycle Quality or On-Line Trading.

And once you have learned how to select a decent quality bicycle, that fits you, you can then go out and hunt. These are the Bicycle Finding Procedures that I use and I get a LOT of bikes, when I want to do so.

Armed with the information above, you will be in a great position to make a wise choice regarding a vintage road bicycle. Of course, you need to understand values also. With that in mind, you might want to take a look at Vintage Bicycle Value.

Hope that is a help.
