I've been reading this forum for a long time for help for wee problems without having to start a new thread! But I'm in a wee conundrum. I've got myself a rusty Armstrong frame from a shed. I found it in pieces but with everything apart from wheels. I'm fairly skint just now so until I've got a bit more cash for period wheels (i.e s/a hub with slots on the axles) I was thinking about filing slots in the axles of some old wheels I've got lying about to fit into the weird 5/16" dropouts. The alternative is filing the dropouts themselves which would have the advantage of allowing me to use any wheels but I'm not sure what (if any) structural consequences this would have for the frame.
