My watch is spot on every time I use it.
I can add anything I want. in initiated the comparison :-) my comparison my rules :-)
I guess you have trouble reading dude. I said in almost every post that the garmin stuff is top notch. but with top notch quality comes top notch price.
I can compare anything I want.
perform a certain function. please tell me do you KNOW what a cadence sensor IS #1 and how it works #2
let me explain for you. you take a 5 cent magnetic switch and a magnet. you put the magnet on the crank and then put the magnet switch on the frame so the magnet on the crank passes close to it. ever time the magnet passes the switch is closed.
no actual "data" is sent. just on off on off on off. now add in a 10 cent "clock" and you now have on off on off over time.
this is called RPM. revolutions per minute. that's it. that is ALL a cedence sensor is. nothing more. its measuring the RPM of your crank. do you have any ideal how insanely SIMPLY device and concept that is?
Lets get back to reality for a moment and leave your ARGUING for the sake of ARGUING and nothing else crap behind.
YOU stated your issue with the droid solution was the battery life.
I said turn off the screen.
YOU said "I want real time data while I ride ie screen on"
I said well you can still turn the screen off and install a cycling computer to "GIVE" you the real time data while your droid screen off records the DETAILED data in your pocket or bag.
YOU then said those things are expensive too and at that point you might as well just buy the garmin
so I showed you this information was incorrect you could in fact use the droid screen off (solving your battery issue) and use onboard cycle computers to give you your real time data fix.
I then as an experiment decided to see just how CHEAP I could go. and got it down to barebones $25 for everything the garmin does except the gps data logging.
what YOU failed the grasp is that the POINT of what the garming does is the GPS data logging. that is the only reason to buy the garmin.
for those of us who have a droid we can get GARMIN LIKE results without the garmin like price.
ask me if I care what my heart rate is? you know what my heart rate is 30 seconds after I start pedaling? 140 know what it is 2 minutes later? 140 what it is 30 minutes later? 140 what it is at ANY POINT IN TIME INSIDE their? 140 plus or minus 3
so a "watch" would work JUST FINE for me. but I had gadget cravings so I grabbed a scosche armband (I can not do chest bands Can't stand them) for $25 off ebay ($80 new)
and what do you know. the watch ALSO says 140 too. wow. seems accurate enough for me.
I am not a doctor. I don't really care if my meter says 140 and its actually 142. its irrelevant data for me.
and take a guess what a HRM is. wow its another RPM meter. a simple switch that pulses and how many pulses a minute in this case BPM beats per minute. another insanely SIMPLE device.
you seem to have this "need" a pretty silly need to defend your position and your position seems to be one of I bought this expensive garmin and I won't have someone telling me I could have done it for less or that I am not "special" for buying it.
I never said any of that but that seems to be the motivation behind your arguing.
this will be my last reply on this issue all together. why? we have gone decidedly OT.
this is an ANDROID APP FOR CYCLING THREAD. if your not using an android and don't want to discuss android apps. vacate.
