Thank you everyone for your suggestions - I was leaning towards the Challenge tires given the very positive reviews I found. Just thought I would ask in case there were some options I was not aware of. One area never to skimp on I now realize rather painfully. Guess I will have to reduce the number of movies I have been buying on blu ray for awhile! I have at least 40mm between the forks and chain stays so clearance should not be an issue for 27mm tires. 200.00 for a pair of quality tires including shipping is really not too bad. I should be ashamed of myself for not using better - you can sure notice the lack of quality in the Vittorias.
