As far as I know, the '85 only came in red/silver and dark grey/silver. The '86 came in red/white, and the font changed significantly for the 1986 model year, from a blocky "CENTURION" with the "U" and "R" connected to each other (1985) to the separated letters.
Also, in 1985 the seat tube was the only contrasting tube. In 1986, the head tube was also the a contrasting color, matching the seat tube.
There are no original decals remaining for anything but the 1988 year, as far as I know. The '85-type DT decals are available if you buy the Turbo kit from VeloCals, but the head tube decal is a little different. The TT decal could probably be used from the '88 set, if you trimmed away everything but the logo and the signature. Getting it in the right color for an '85 (silver) would be between you and the decal maker. Getting it in the right color for an '86 would be the same situation.
The closest you're going to get to a 1985 is to use the DT decal and the head tube decal from the Turbo kit, buy a Tange 1 frame decal separately, and then buy the 1988 Ironman kit and trim everything else away from the TT decal. You won't find the fork crown decal or the fork tubing decals, or the "Made in Japan" decal, that I know of.
The closest you're going to get to a 1986 is to use the DT decal, head tube decal, and TT decal from the '88 kit, and trim away the parts you don't want, then get the Tange 1 frame decal. You won't find the fork crown decal or the fork tubing decals, or the correct "Made in Japan" decal, that I know of.
If you could get some really good photos and contact JR at VeloCals, he may be able to make some for you. It's a time-consuming process, and you'd have to just hope for the best.
Good luck. I just re-did a 1985 and simply used the 1988 decal kit. I built it to ride, and am fully aware it's not correct; I can live with it because it looks nice, but I understand.
