but I am not making statements of fact. you are. I don't need any data because I am not making gradiose statements of fact based on zero data. I am saying what "I" want. nothing more.
I am aware of at least 3 BT3 HRM's. Scosche - Zephyr -Sports Tracker
I mention bt4 so you can cry foul and say boo hoo my garming has HRM blah blah point is HRM is a separate device.
"It's a third ugly/large/unnecessary box."
its not large its not ugly and its not unnecessary (assuming you want these functions)
"YOU AND YOU ALONE with a few other exceptions" think its those things. thats your problem.
You can't say with BT4 you only need a $60 sensor (and then ignore the cost of the BT4)
and its $40 not $60. (cadence speed sensor wahoo $39.99) and then another $80 to $100 for the HRM (both both systems would need that so its a wash)
with BT4 you NEED a $500 phone to use it. you MAY NOT ignore that cost since I am aware of ONLY 3 phones that have BT4 (OF the MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS on the market)
Iphone 4s - Nexus - S3
I assume the I5 just released also supports BT4 (its $700 I know I just sold one for the equivalent of that)
so thats 4 phones.
maybe in a few years you can blah blah blah about BT4 and ignore its insanely steep cost of entry.
and even when BT4 is common my idea STILL will not be obsolete. clearly you don't comprehend the definition of the word obsolete.
but all BT4 devices ARE ALSO BT3 compatible. not obsolete by any stretch of the imagination.
