I have to agree with this,

I tried just using what ever tyre i could get for cheap but i found that they didn't last on glass filled street roads.

I ended up going with

Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyre - Smart Guard - 26 x 1.75

So far they have survived many long trips though glass hell . oh and they have a shiny side wall which is always a plus

oh they can be a pain to get on the first time ... zip ties are your friend in this case
