My brother does ride. He's on an older Cannondale R400 with a ridiculous mix of 3x7 components. He's a dental student in Richmond, VA so one doesn't want the bike to garner much attention. I've still helped him out a bit with cables, tape, and the like. This past year for Christmas I set him up new yellow fizik tape and yellow jagwire cabling to go with the extant purple-ish sparkle paint and yellow michelin tires paired with yellow saddle. It looks nice, but not too nice. I threw in some maintenance as well since he doesn't do any. I've never seen so much road grime in my life...
