Bikes: 1949 'Italian' , 1950 San Giusto, 1897 Union, and a number of "projects"... 198? Grandis, a couple of Mixte's...

Textbook definitions are posted below.

For me personally, I that a large number of bicycles posted or represented are not truly Classic, they may be Vintage by virture of their age, but even that is a stretch over just plain 'old'. Most here seem to consider anything 'pre-brifter' fits the bill. I really don't consider anything that was an assembly line product to be C&V in the true sense or spirit of the definitions. As such, I think I only own a couple real C&V bikes. Even one such as my 1913 Mead Ranger is not really C&V - it IS an antique however !

Anyhow, despite my ramblings, if it is steel and pre-brifter, it will usually be fine here...so post away and have fun....oh, and there is a thread for oldies with new parts and retrofits.
