Wanted to post an update. Got a tune up from LBS, put on some spare parts I dug out from the garage and gave it a shower. Just got some new tires on today. Here's a picture below. Thanks again to those who helped!!
Woho! If you hadn't posted your earlier question and just posted this picture we wouldn't have known you hadn't been commuting for years - well at least until someone pointed out the cranks are misaligned for a proper bike picture, you didn't use the white garage door background, and you still need pedals of some sort.
