I've packed an entire bike less the wheelset for shipment by USPS under their 108" limit. For full bikes with wheels I use FedEx and the 'dimensional weight' cutoff is 130", calculated as length + 2x width + 2x height, beyond which the shipping rates nearly triple. For large sized bkes I use the two-piece Trek Madone style box which comes in at 128" and makes packing easy as pie.
