I went ahead and bought the G2. I was able to find a good deal on a matte black one with the winter liner setup. I'll give it a try this winter and maybe even get the summer liner and see how long I can wear it when it really gets hot. If it gets too hot, I'll always have a fall-back in my regular cycling helmet.
