White is not difficult to clean, 409 works very well. I have white handlebar tape and hoods and seat on a bike and they look almost new because of 409. It helps to make sure you keep your gloves clean too. And if your white stuff looks black from dirt, imagine how much dirt is on your other colored stuff because "you can't see it". You need to clean your other colors just as frequently.
