Been thru LHR.. Gatwick is served by a Train. rather than 'the Tube'..
train gets you to Victoria station [been a long time, so old-timers handicap]
more room for a bike +
leave it in the carton and you can stow it in 'Left Luggage'.. while you look for lodging.
