I almost had a K'Tesh moment on the ride in today.
I was riding down a 2 way sidestreet that's been a part of my commute for a while now being careful to stay out of the door zone when all of a sudden a door comes flying open at a time when I couldn't avoid hitting it if I hadn't been safely to the side of it. The street is narrow enough to limit parking to the side I was on, and fortunately no one was coming the other way allowing me to move further out of the way after yelling a hearty "thank you" as I went by. The blinking light on my helmet should have been pretty visible in the large mirror on the side of the pickup if the driver had looked too, and as I pedaled away I kept thinking of the 2 times K'Tesh has been hit in the daytime. Fortunately, I didn't end up like that today - I'm riding home with all the lights on tonight!
