I feel safer at night, I thinks it's because my 3 rear blinkies and 2 front light will stand out a lot more in the dark so I can't be miss. I see a big difference in drivers behavior, they go slower and give me more space at night than in daytime. It could explain why K'tesh has been hit 11 times in daytime and just once at nightime.
I too feel safer at night. At night I have a measure of control over my visiblity, during the daytime, I'm just as invisible as any other cyclist.
