Should I just skip the clearcoating? My second question is what kind of paint did you use on the head badge? I need to repaint mine as well.

Appreciate any advice you can toss my way - I am the original owner of this bike and would love to get it back on the road.
I've since sold the bike, but the decals adhered very tightly to the powder. Whether they would hold up to repeated banging and scuffing is another question which I can't answer.

I used Deco paint pens (red, black) on the headbadge, using a paint filling technique involving steel wool and dish soap.

They're just the heads of brass finishing nails. They (and the headbadge) are glued on.
