Another noob looking for a tire recommendation

My main ride is a 2010 Gary Fisher Zebrano which I guess is a comfort hybrid

As you can see from the specs it currently has the original Bontrager 700x35c Invert puncture resistant tires on Matrix 750 wheels. They have served me well but, I want to replace them with something more road like since all of my riding is done on the street or paved bike or rail trails. I am considering going from the 35c to a 28c and I need something with a low rolling resistance and good puncture resistance. Any and all suggestions and recommendations will be greatly appreciated because after researching this the past couple of nights I am more lost than ever.
