No problems running a cable to the rear derailleur.

+1. There are also other FDs with built in stops. I just built up a Bottechia Pro with a Suntour (BL?). All aluminum, with a built-in stop. I'm building it with Suntour barcons and had an appropriate Suntour downtube stop in the stash....
