Bought a Protec Ace multisport helmet in May, but I was foolish to buy a black one. After one day of riding this summer in Toronto my hair was cooked, haha. Beside that, it's a hardshell helmet that is well-made, can take multiple impacts. I'd say most helmets got damaged by handling (dropped on concrete, bang against the wall, etc...) more than by accidents so hardshell can handle day-to-day lives better.

Upon cooking my head in that helmet, I walked into MEC and picked up an Alpina Spice LE helmet. I didn't expect to spend that much money on a helmet but I needed a new helmet in a hurry, and it just fit my head so well. Also, it's very lightweight and features netting in the front vents to keep bugs from getting into the hair. Although Alpina (a German brand) is very well-known in Europe, only place I have seen it in North America is in MEC in Canada.
