So what if Lance tells Prudhomme to kiss off. He gave all that money aaway, anyhow. It gets spilt up amongst rest of the riders. Besides, it's only about a half million. That's pocket money to athletes in other sports.
This is true, but the money was still paid to Armstrong, and he may well be liable for repayment, based on cheating and no result.
It also opens the doors for others to reclaim what they have paid to Armstrong. That insurance company must be busy sharpening its legal knives right now.
On the other hand, his sponsors wouldn't have much case. The marketing aspect has come and gone, and at the time they probably thought it was money well spent.
