I bought some button cell batteries from DX recently and killed 2 used bike computers with them before I realized it was likely the battery that did it. Fortunately, they were old ones and not worth much. My guess is that the battery was mislabeled and was a higher voltage than what it was sold as.
Most of the stuff I have bought from DX has been a decent value, however. But no more batteries from them.
