You seem to imagine that he's worried about falling off. If you'd ever watched one of these guys practising, you'd know that they end up on their heads every single day. These stunts don't happen without a lot of work setting them up and practising, and while rehearsing they go wrong more often than not. He isn't worrying about a wheel failing...
