Fairly hard rain and just at the freezing point here in Washington, DC. The roads were fine on my trip, but there is some really nasty freezing rain in the suburbs, where my office staff live. They have called in with all sorts of tales.
The ice coats the smaller branches of the trees, turning them white. The contrast with the black trunks and major branches, reminds me of cherry trees along the Tidal Basin in the spring. It is very beautiful.
