Cadence is dependent on terrain and gearing. On a road bike, it is near impossible to spin 90rpm on a steep climb, well not for long anyway. Average cadence, like average speed isn't a very good indicator of anything when riding on the open road, unless of course you ride in a flat area. You can train anything though and a higher cadence tends to be more efficient the longer the ride.
