Hello C&V Forum. So I have this Nishiki Sebring, I bought it to use it while I saved up money for a proper road bike and to be better than my mountain bike. This bike has some history with me and even though I only rode it for about 500 miles, I greatly enjoyed it. Especially riding in groups where people would commend me for keeping up with it. Anyways, this bike has a spot in my heart and do not want to see it go. My current bike is a 56 and I'm pretty sure this bike is at least a 60. It fits me huge but I didn't care.
What should I do with it? I bought new tires for it as the ones it came with were cracking and ugly. Bought black ones with tan lines which really gave the bike a nice touch. The rear derailleur squeaks like crazy, the front cranks wobble, and I have a smile on my face when I ride it. Even though I rarely use it now, I mainly want to have this bike as just an option whenever I want to ride with someone and don't feel like riding my road bike. My current options are:
1) Sell it and either buy a cheap bike from BD or eBay or just keep the money.
2) Fix it up and replace the derailleur (nothing fancy, just something that doesn't sound like a bird chirping) and maybe some new friction shifters.
3) Convert it to a SS. I'm leaning more towards this one as I heard they were a fun option and easier to deal with than all the cables and derailleurs and what not.
