Becoming a Bicycle Commuter... Again.

Two years ago I had a saddle p.e. followed by lung surgery. Two months in the hospital and six months at home recuperating. I will never have the lung function that I used to have, primarily due to a partially paralyzed diaphragm, scar tissue, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Needless to say this has put a pretty big damper on my commuting. I got hooked on commuting by bike and rode every work day for three plus years. I initially got back on the bike pretty quickly once I was able but quickly became frustrated with my loss of fitness and diminished lung capacity.

However, it's time to get back on my bike. I have begun to miss it terribly. I have a new job and will be biking to the light rail and then I'll disembark and ride a few miles into work. I could tell I was getting ready for this when I started trolling through commuter forum again.

You guys are inspirational and a great source of information. Glad to be back amongst my people!
