how did you notice the cracks in the gt? the headtube crack seems more apparent but the bottom bracket would be harder to notice. did it start creaking real bad? ive got a gt zrx from that same era...
The GT photos are the same area- the headtube. That's not the BB. I saw the grease coming through the crack in the HT at first I thought maybe it was just a crack in the clear, but after i'd wipe it away, it would seep back through a couple days later. That's when I knew it was terminal.
