Lol, lot of information and opinions here. thanks guys.So the general consensus is since I'm big a guy I should get bigger tires to achieve optimum pressure. because a smaller tire wouldn't be able to support my weight without exceeding the maximum pressure?

A Lot of this scientific stuff, like braking radius, weight distribution, etc, looks good on paper but how much of it applies to real world conditions especially for a run of the mill commuter like myself? It's an interesting discussion though.

I heard about the 15% drop stuff before from my LBS, but I still maxed out my tires lol. When the new ones come I'm going to follow Rekmeyata's chart.

Now assuming i meet my 80lb weight loss goal, i'm probably going to have to replace my tires to a smaller size right? Or am I giving tire size more significance than what it's worth. sorry for all the noob questions. I rode bikes for years but never actually educated myself on this kind of stuff.
