Definitely don't overlook this option. I was a bit leery about 'bents, and wound up buying mine over the internet without trying it out first (dealer was going out of business, and I got a screaming deal). I love it. Makes me wish I would have gotten one years ago, especially for commuting. I still have an upright mtn bike for trail riding, but I really like the comfort of the bent, and it cuts the headwind much better than an upright.

It does take some getting used to though.
