Nope. I love my solo rides. I've had a blast riding with others, but I'm a night owl and I absolutely refuse to do 8 or 9 AM group rides in the cooler months when it's chilly in the morning. Summer is fine.

I also can't stand ride leaders that play the "bait and switch" game, where they change the route drastically after you've signed up. One time I signed up for a ride that was supposed to be a climb and descent of a local mountain (30 miles with about 3,800' of climbing). After I RSVPed they tried to change it to a 67 mile ride with 7,000' of climbing. I had family in town and I planned my day around that, so I needed to be back in town at a reasonable time. Besides, I didn't feel like wearing myself out with that much mileage and climbing. I am car-lite, so I always need to leave some energy in the tank for using my bike as transportation.

The other club I'm a member of makes it very clear exactly what you're in for if you do the ride. They don't deviate from the original mileage and amount of climbing, and they say what level of rider should do the ride.
