That article seems to suggest that the veloce shifter will work with your current FD, but I've also heard people say that the newer Campy left shifters have fewer clicks and don't work as well with this as they used to. Haven't tried it yet myself, so I can't say for sure. Might be worth a try. You can usually get veloce shifters from the uk sites (like ribble) for less than $100 with cables included.
