Were the hoods on those some sort of plastic rather than gum rubber? I notice pics of sets where the hoods seem to survive pretty well.
The hood material is unusual and appears to weather the passing of time and wear of use very well. The calipers come either engraved or embossed. Also, if you look carefully through the hood material you might be able to see the Bailla insignia or name etched into the side of the lever base.
