I've bought/found/been given some bikes I don't need, but I gave them away to family and friends or sold them on Craigslist. I find tinkering with bikes to be very relaxing (for the most part).

If the Sprite has the S5 hub (S5/1, S5/2), I'd buy it. If it has a derailler, I'd pass. The S5 is a very nice hub, with 5 evenly spaced gears. You could use that hub with your current Sports, or rehab the Sprite. Once you get used to the shifting, I'm sure you'll like the hub.
