So...back on the whole voter ID subject...I was looking over what was required to vote here in TX. The list included a utility bill with your name. It got me thinking...if I wanted to do any voter fraud, I could scope out the mailboxes of folks with lawn signs for "the other guy", pull a qualifying bill and then go early vote on Day 1, casting their ballot for "my guy". Later, they'd show up to vote and be told they already voted (or maybe they don't vote at all but if they have a lawn sign, they prolly do).
Sure, but that's an awful lot of work and risk (voter *and* mail fraud) for little reward. Meanwhile, enacting voter ID laws will significantly hinder the votes of people in numbers that are orders of magnitude larger than any fraud that's allegedly taken place.
