I'm only aware of the A, B and C designations. C is narrower than B which is narrower than A.

And Scrod is correct. The manufacturers and distributors have done little to clean up the confusion around various tires sizes. I just speak in BSD and mm width to try and avoid confusion, but that only works if the person you're talking to knows as much about tires as you do.
