Are both of you generally not interested in politics? Hard for me to imagine not saying things about it, if only talking aloud to myself.
I follow it all, but my wife seems to get frustrated with it easily. She is historically Democrat, until gay marriage gets mentioned. But working in Health care, she worries that the affordable care act will ruin her livelihood. The problem in our family is that my Dad and sister are vocally Dems, and all Repubs are evil, misogynistic devils. And then I argue with them for the sake of arguing. So politics became taboo.
