So, after deciding I wanted the Surly, no, the IRO, weeeell, how bout the Suzue, NO: IRO!, I have a new option...

I went down to the Bike Church (co-op) to swap cogs (I'll 40x14 now instead of 16) and remove a spacer from my front hub (I have very few bike specific tools), I asked about hubs. Well, they mostly only order from QBP. And you have to be a member. Well, membership was something I should do anyway, so let's check 'er out. The guy tells me they charge QBP price + 50%. My LBS doesn't tell me the prices, but they double QBP's price. So, I'm flipping through track hubs, and I find that the Surly single sided fixed hub is a mere $36! Plus $18, gives me a new hub, shipped, for $54 (the IRO would be 50 even). Plus, it's local and I can pay cash. So, is the Surly good enough (ie, between the Suzue and IRO) to make it a deal? I'm reeaaally leaning that way now, but hey, I'm easily persuaded (kind of).

So, let me know what you think.
