The real question is: Will your new cassette fit onto your old freehub?

If it does, I'd just bolt on the new parts, ride the bike and see how it goes. If you're making an 8-speed to 9-speed conversion you might have to pop for a front derailleur if you have a triple crankset but I'm told it'll work fine with a double.
