What I'm looking for is a shadow of a rounded ridge down the center of the rim. This rim looks like slightly rounded box, while the fancier rim has more curves. It's also wider and heavier. What I see looks like the cheaper Endrick rim, which is what I'd prefer anyway since it's lighter. I'm not actually sure the Sports always had the more expensive rim, though. I am pretty sure the cheaper models, the Hercules and Robin Hood and Triumph and LTD-3 and soo many others, all had the Endrick rim.
In the early 60s, at least, Raleigh produced a Sports Standard or something like that with those Endrick rims and a Sturmey-Archer S3C coaster-brake hub. It was the lower-cost version of the "regular" Sports.
