reading this thread make me feel great cause I'm the kid that ride around on a 35lbs walmart huffy 10 speeds "moutain" bike. By the way, only four of those gears engage smoothly, 2 don't engage at all and the rest of the gears is a blur. I ride for 10-12 miles with decent hill work when I go out for ride. I did try to ride a road bike at my uncle place once and it was quite fun and fast and just overall, a higher quality bike. I need to get myself a road bike when I get a little older.
