I'm still having trouble getting the right part from Downtube.
The picture above is what it looks like when I have the cylinder installed. You can tell that there is none of the cylinder that sticks out of the whole on the bottom.
Can somebody who has a Downtube with a similar closing mechanism try and take the same picture?

Is the cylinder in upside down? Is the hole that the threads goes through in the center of the cylinder (equidistant from the ends)? I had an 8FS with basically the same hinge, but I never had to take it apart.. there should be protrusion in the relaxed position, and then you would have to lift up on the q/r handle to disengage .. it's a secondary lock just incase the primary q/r fails.. isn't really needed, but is nice for peace of mind..
