The subject frame is a 1994 (steel) Edge, handbuilt in the USA using Excell Superlite tubing, Original component group was Dura-Ace STI. Original price $2799.
The Edge road bicycles road bikes had shorter tail stubs and the steel Edge was the shortest by virtue of the small bead permitted by it's fillet brazed construction. It's literally a curved plate brazed onto the back of the seat tube, to seal the ends of the ovalized top tube. The titanium Edge has a slightly longer stub and the welded aluminum Edge has the longest due to the large fillets required.
