Two reasons. One, it's a lot harder to sell a frame and wheelset than it is to sell a complete bike. Two, the last ride I put on it I did some climbing, and realized I chose some pretty bad gearing. Standard crank and 11-23 aren't very fun to do any kind of real climbing on. Going with compact and 12-28 this time around.
yeah. i did a big 10k feet / 78 mile ride this summer on 53/39 cranks with 11-23 cassette.
alot of the hills were over 15% and by the end i was just angry.
had to stand out of the saddle for every climb
ordered a new cassette the next day
